Aulus Gellius' accounts of his studies in Athens are a major source for the personality of Taurus the Platonic philosopher of the 2nd century A.D. and besides, give important insights into the history of Platonic school of that time. Das vorliegende Werk stellt zum ersten Mal die Berichte des Gellius uber den Mittelplatoniker zusammen und vermittelt durch ihre ausfuhrliche Kommentierung wertvolle neue Einsichten in Inhalt, Form und Methoden seiner philosophischen Erziehung, uber das Verhaltnis des Lehrers zu seinen Schulern sowie uber das Studentenleben im 2.
