5 out of 5 stars Awesome Math Review!

This book would be helpful to anyone studying to take a the math portion of a standardized exam. I'm studying to take the GRE in a couple months. I'm a chemistry major and have taken math up to vector calculus and linear algebra, but I forgot simple things I learned in geometry and algebra. In each chapter of the book, you first take a diagnostic test to see your areas of weakness, then you review those areas and take another test at the end. I'm not all the way done studying with this book, but it is very clear and organized. The explanations are written in a simple, understandable way. Also, this book is very thorough. It is helpful if you don't know any math at all or if you just need a good review of essential skills!

5 out of 5 stars Brand new

Book came in on time and in brand new condition. Started using the product immediately. Thanks.

5 out of 5 stars Also great for ASVAB prep.

I bought this book when I was getting ready to take the ASVAB to join the military. I got a much higher score on the ASVAB after reviewing the entire math section involving word problems and percentages. I would recommend this book to anyone who is trying to improve the ASVAB score. It's so easy to find what you are looking for in this book. It's very important that you review everything in this book from the beginning( the basics) to the end.

5 out of 5 stars Huge improvement

It had been about 10 years since I was in high school and solving math problems on a regular basis. By drilling with the questions in this book, I improved my quantitative score on my first practice GRE from 590 to 750 on the actual test.

5 out of 5 stars I hate math, but I love this book!

I am planning to take the GMAT so I bought this book to review before I start getting into quant on the GMAT. I never enjoyed math in high school (which was over 6 years ago), nor was it my best subject, and during college I only had to take one statistics class. When I sat down to review math I honestly didn't even remember how to do long division without using a calculator, simply because I haven't needed to do that for years!! I am halfway through this book now and it's really helpful. It starts off easy and reviews all the basics, along with a refresher on all of the rules of math. I feel as though most review books assume you know the basics and just dive right in, so that's why I like this book. The book gets progressively harder in each chapter, but it still ties in things you have just reviewed. I really like that each time the book introduces a new subject, it gives you 5-10 quick practice problems to do to make sure you understand it before moving on. There is a diagnostic test in the beginning of each chapter, as well as a longer review test at the end. I also like how this book isn't very big, it's not the same size as the giant standardized test books they make, so it's not very indimidating. I can't imagine a better way to relearn math: lots of easy-to-understand review and plenty of practice problems...Highly recommended!
