Editorial Reviews:

The MCSE Training Guide series provides an efficient way of preparing for MCSE exams. The chapters are directly organized around the exam topics and objectives. Each chapter begins with a pre-chapter quiz that allows the readers to assess their knowledge of the objectives covered in the chapter. Each chapter ends with a set of review questions that enables readers to assess their knowledge again after reading the material. Each chapter also provides hands-on learning opportunities through a set of exercises

-Successfully pass the new IE4 exam on your way to obtaining your MCP, MCSE, or MCSE+ Internet certification!

-The ONLY study materials you will need to pass Exam 70-79, Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0.

-Study test questions and practice taking the exam with the exclusive TestPrep test engine on the CD-ROM.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Average MCSE Study Guide 2.5 stars out of 5

The book fell short on many areas of the test such as ISP and Content developer sections. It also did little to expalin the AVS section compaired to questions asked on the exam. There are MANY, MANY technical errors in the book so watch out. This book is good as a secondary study aid and IMOH should not be relied on as the primary source for studing for test 70-079. I received a 531 out of 1000 on my first attempt at taking the sylvan test. I have only failed 1 other test during my quest for my MCSE

3 out of 5 stars Good, but you also need hands-on experience.

This was the only training and reference tool I used to prepare for the MCSE exam for Internet Explorer Administration Kit. The exam is fairly new, and training materials are not as well developed as other exams. Nevertheless, this book does a good job of preparing you for the exam. Although I have yet to see a book that is organized the way I like, this book is well organized, the exam objectives are clearly marked, and the included CD is very good as well. The CD includes two versions of the same test, one that will provide the correct answers, and one that won't. Why there are two, I don't know, since you don't have to see the answers if you don't want to, and they draw from the same question pool. There is also a tool called Flashcards, but I couldn't get it to run, and kept receiving a "#div/0" error. The test is very good and does a decent job mimicing the MS exam.

As the author clearly points out in the book, you also need hands-on experience prior to! the actual exam. The only way to get hands-on experience is to first install IE4.01, then download the Administration Kit. If you are accessing the internet over any modem, download times are quite long.

For what it's worth, I passed the test on the first try after using this book for only a week.
