APA 5th ed Publication Manual
I needed this book to assist me with the writing of college papers. The only copy I had became lost in a move to a new house. I bought this book and received it much earlier than expected.
I prefer MLA
If your professor requires you to use APA, I wouldn't buy this, .. I'd just look up APA guidelines online, you should be okay.
Buy the spiral bound version
The blue spiral-bound version gives examples and talks you through how to cite in APA format; this one is utterly useless and a waste of a college student's money.

It took over 3 weeks for this item to get to me. I was not happy. I am in grad school and they don't wait 3 weeks on you to get your books. Even standard shipping should only take a week.
For a college class
I'm taking an advanced writing/ APA course that uses the APA workbook and training manual. That workbook was made to coincide with this Publication Manual. However, this book was not a required text, so I found it here on amazon and bought it to help me in this course as an extra study tool. I'm in the final week of this course, and I use this Manual ALL the time! The APA codes line up exactly with the workbook and training manual. It is packed FULL of APA rules you need to know in order to write term papers, research papers, and journal articles.
