Editorial Reviews:

The MCSE exams require even the most experienced administrator to bone up on hard-to-remember facts that you might normally just look up when you needed them. Sometimes, an old-fashioned memorization aid is just what you need, even when what you're studying is technology for the twenty-first century. Many MCSE candidates construct their own flashcards to help them study. Now, you can buy a set of proven cards that help you concentrate on the bits you'll need to have at your fingertips to pass the exam.

Many of the cards are "Jeopardy" (TM) style, and can be used either way -- to match a definition with a term, or to see if you remember what's important about the term.

Covers MCSE Exam #70-059, Internetworking with TCP/IP on Windows NT 4.0.

These cards are an essential part of your test-taking strategy and an ideal complement to the coverage in MCSE: The Electives in a Nutshell or other test-preparation books. There are three types of cards included:

  • Definition cards give the characteristics of a particular technology, or individual facts you need to memorize.
  • Compare and Contrast cards test your ability to distinguish between two related technologies.
  • Advantages and Disadvantages cards help you to remember the key facts that you'll need to answer many of the difficult situational questions on the MCSE exam.

You need to remember a lot of terminology, acronyms, and facts to pass the MCSE exams. An ideal complement to MCSE: The Electives in a Nutshell, these flashcards will help you memorize all the key facts you need for Exam #70-059, Internetworking with TCP/IP on Windows NT 4.0. Convenient for quick study sessions on the subway or bus.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Compliments core study material...portable, easy 2 use.

--This review is for NT Ent. and IP cards--

I chose these cards over the examcram cards for a few reasons. For one, for about the same price, you get way more cards (256 cards for this series compared to 100 for examcram) and i heard the exam cram questions are just stuff from the back of their book.

This series is pretty thorough. Some material that it covers never will be on the tests, so the cool thing is you can ditch the ones you don't want (or already know) and focus in on your weak spots. I guess I'm used to writing my own flashcards (old college prep days) because the feel of the questions (not written from my P.o.V. of course) took a little getting used to.

On the whole, I love their portability and ease of use, and they come with a poster of NT facts that I hung in my cube that I can glance @ anytime I'm thinking of something I'm not sure of about NT.

My test taking prep mainly includes Exam Cram books, Transcender tests, and talking with fellow MCP's, but these cards are a nice compliment to nailing the material, especially if your pressed for time and have used flashcards before.

So are they worth buying you ask? I would say yes. Better that than another $100 for a test. Downside...you'll never reference them again like you would a good book.

Compared to the $$$ you'll hopefully make after your certs, $20 is a drop in the bucket.

PS..if you buy these cards, please take the time to write a review. The more opinons posted, the better informed potential buyers will be. Give back.

Kev
