Product Description

Schiller's gripping, heart-rending and ultimately triumphant story of her journey into madness and back to reality is told through the voices of Lori and her family, friends and doctor, and captures a rare, astoundingly vivid view into the inner life of a schizophrenic. "A stunning story of courage, persistence, and hope."--Publishers Weekly.

5 out of 5 stars Great book! Great price! Great service!

The book arrived as promised--in good condition and on time (actually before I expected it). Couldn't ask for better service.

4 out of 5 stars Insightful story

This was an insightful and telling story and I would venture to say, useful reading for anyone who suffers from a mental illness or who cares for someone with one. The various points of view give a wide range of reference for this story. I found this book gripping. The Kindle version of this book however is riddled with spelling, grammatical and formatting errors - something I would like to see fixed or the price lowered.

5 out of 5 stars amazing

This is an amazing story of a girl and her battle with reality and the world inside her own head. It tells in great detail of the horrible things that she endured through high school and hospitals. Lori shows us a world that many of us have no idea about and may never experience. The heartfelt accounts of her doctors and family surrounding her makes the situation seem all the more real. Her account of the Voices and her constant battle with them is inspiring and courageous. It truly makes me feel appreciative of all that I have, and yet makes me feel the greatest compassion for anyone and their families that go through anything like this. I would recommend this book to anyone.

2 out of 5 stars watching paint dry

i understand where she is coming from, but it was a bit dry. my review is a little under average, but its my opinion. cant change it.

5 out of 5 stars " I Finally understand!'

I am in love with a man who has paronoid schizophrenia and was not understanding alot of things he did but amazingly so she is almost exactly like him...I am feeling such a need to thank all the people who put this book together and especially Lori and her courage to finally trust and go through so much to get better. I wish I could talk to her as I want to know what I can do to help him. He has put us on timeout and it has been 10 months as he said my life was in danger. I found this book so much of a help I could not put it down and I hope to tell you that my man has gotten better and has love . He would say I am not allowed to have love but he already does.... Thanks so much fantastic book!
