Passed the Exam
The book was very well laid-out and explained the concepts clearly, and the flash cards served as a great review tool. One tip that I should pass on to those who use the CD: After you install the test software, make sure to go to either Help or Options (can't remember which right now) and update the software; it will download the latest version that has new questions and some bug fixes.
With the help of this set, I studied for and PASSED the Network+ exam with a very good score. Highly recommended.
Got me my N+ Certification
Great study material and online tests. I got my certification on the latest version of this exam. I recommend it.
There are better quality study guide resources out there.
This textbook certainly meets the weight and thickness test. I haven't taken the Network+ yet because after reading through the entire book I've found some of it's content contradicts with other Network + resources I've consulted. The CD (tests) would be useful if the information was accurate but several questions are either ambiguosly worded and/or in some instances the author's answers to the questions are simply incorrect. The content layout isn't crafted too well - its tough to use as a reference (e.g. try to look up NETBEUI from the back index). The flash cards are interesting but whether they contribute to the objective is unknown. I would'nt hang my hat on passing Network+ using this kit as a sole resource.
OK but not great!
The book was definitely good but the CD did not reflect the actual test questions. I passed but was definitely blindsided by the types of questions asked. I would buy the book on it's own and find your practice tests elsewhere.
Network+
Ordered the book and got it in no time. Same books they were using in classroom at half the price. I will order again next term.
