Even a witch can make a occasional mistake
While in the process of boiling up a potion, a witch accidentally burns the bristles off her broom. While attempting to find some new bristles, she goes to a farmhouse where a broom has been left on the porch. In order to fly to get some new bristles for her broom, she enchants the farmer's broom, flies to the swamp, fixes her old broom and flies back. However, she fails to remove the spell from the farmer's broom before she places it back on the porch.
The farmer's wife is surprised when she picks up the broom and suddenly flies up into a tree. The farmer thinks she is being foolish until he grabs the broom and then he starts flying as well. It is not long before he sees the advantages and uses the broom to help get his work done. However, when the witch flies over and almost collides with the farmer's wife, she realizes her mistake and removes the enchantment.
This is a fun tale about witchcraft and a witch who is out to enjoy herself rather than create difficulty for others. I enjoyed reading it; the story is a good one for children to read on or about Halloween.
