Editorial Reviews:

Over the years, startling evidence has been uncovered, challenging established notions of the origins of life on Earth?evidence that suggests the existence of an advanced group of extraterrestrials who once inhabited our world.

The first book of the revolutionary Earth Chronicles series offers indisputable documentary evidence of the existence of the mysterious planet Nibiru and tells why its astronauts came to Earth eons ago to fashion mankind in their image.

The product of more than thirty years of meticulous research, The 12th Planet treats as fact, not myth, the tales of Creation, the Deluge, the Tower of Babel, and the Nefilim who married the daughters of man. By weaving together the biblical narrative with Sumerian and Babylonian clay-tablet texts, it challenges the established notions of the origins of Earth and mankind, and offers a compelling alternative history and prehistory of both.

Zecharia Sitchen's The 12th Planet is the starting point on a quest that spans six books and 20 years worth of ancient aliens, genetic manipulation, and scrutiny of linguistic minutiae. If we trust Sitchen's translation abilities, we must be prepared for the imminent return of an alien race who created us some 300,0x00 years ago. The 12th Planet is perhaps the best written of Sitchin's Earth Chronicles series; full of example after example of ancient Sumerian passages, astronomical observations, archaeological finds, and technological coincidences supporting his theories. The price we pay for all this evidence is a bit of a dry read at times, but the ideas Sitchin proposes are more than scintillating enough to make up for the overtly scholastic tone of his text. --Brian Patterson

5 out of 5 stars It Makes You Feel Closer to God(s)!

This is the groundbreaking first book in the seven-book series of The Earth Chronicles by Zecharia Sitchin. It was first published in 1976. The topic of the book revolves around the "ancient astronaut" theory of human creation. By deciphering writings from Sumerian and various other ancient civilizations, Sitchin makes a compelling argument that human-like creatures (the Nefilim) from a planet that orbits our sun every 3,600 years (the 12th Planet) are responsible for the sudden rise of the Homo sapiens around 35,000 years ago.

Although farfetched, Sitchin brings to the table an array of persuasive archeological, linguistic, scientific and Biblical evidence all pointing to this "ancient astronaut" theory of human creation. Sitchin concludes that the Nefilim created the mankind through genetic engineering, by manipulating and mixing the genetic makeup of a preexisting human-like species such as the Cro-Magnon Man with those of the Nefilim. A task that was far less within the realm of possibilities when Sitchin wrote this book in 1976, than what our 21st century science can accomplish today. Sitchin proposes than the Nefilim created the Man as a race of primitive workers to work in their precious metal mining operations on earth. A race subservient to the Nefilim and worshiping them as lords and gods. On the other hand, this book concludes that many of the technological advances of the first civilizations, notably agriculture and domestication of animals were bestowed on them by the Nefilim.

There is now ample evidence to refute Sitchin's conclusions. Then again, when it comes to the creation of humans and their civilizations, there is more than enough evidence to rebut any single theory. What I like about Sitchin's work is that it presents a very intriguing explanation of the human origin that logically, if not comprehensively, reconciles the evolutionary and creationist views of how we came about. Even if one considers Sitchin's explanations as a total work of fiction, we have to give him a lot of accolades for being such an inventive and forward-looking thinker. If nothing else, The 12th Planet definitely accomplishes the task of a noteworthy book; that is, it forces you to think out of the box.

5 out of 5 stars The very best. Sitchin is the greatest

Zecharia Sitchin is the light on the top of the mountain. He created the whole thing. He is the godfather of this amazing journey!
Collins and Icke told us how bad and vicious are the Anunnaki. Zecharia Sitchin and Maximillien de Lafayette told us how good and benevolent are the Anunnaki. All of them wrote tons of books. They must know something.
Sitchin is great, he gives us an unprecedented chronology of the Anunnaki. Lafayette describes the habitat, and life of the Anunnaki on Nibiru, and their agenda for the human race. Each one has a way in doing so. However, both agree that we were created by the Anunnaki from chunks of clay.
Icke is determined to show how dangerous the Anunnaki are. His arguments are fairy tales but quite interesting. He has something there.
I don't know about Collins. He is serious but has strange ideas.
I read four books by Sitchin. Each one better than the other.
However The Stairway to Heavens, and the Twelve Planet are the best so far!

5 out of 5 stars The Guru of Alternative Archeology. Sitchin is Mesmerizing. Simply the Greatest!!

Indeed, Zecharia Sitchin is sublime. He is the greatest.
A daring thinker with unmatched visions, historical depth and unusual approach to understanding our world.
Some of his theories challenge mainstream science. But remember, science could become stagnant if creative minds are dormant.
Sitchin's mind is vibrant. Sitchin's mind encompasses multidimensional spheres of ultimate knowledge.
Have you ever wondered who are the greatest five authors in this field?
Not hard to find out. In my book, the 5 greatest ones are in no particular order:
1-Zecharia Sitchin.
2-Maximillien de Lafayette.
3-L. Gardner.
4-David Icke.
5- J. Vallee.

Without the work of these 5 geniuses, the world of ufology is dark!

4 out of 5 stars History of the World, Part I

Everyone is so locked in to their paradigm that they fail to consider what the hard evidence presents. If you actually consider everything, including the Bible, with an open mind, without a pre-conceived notion of the way things should be, then the book makes a lot of sense.

Sitchin supports all his theories with archeological findings, mythological stories, passages from the Bible, or all of the above. The interesting part is that this makes more sense than any of our accepted "histories" of the world.

A lot of people will write this off as nothing but B.S. That's ok, but how do you explain all the contradictions in our accepted history? The Sumerians knew about the earth's precession, yet thousands of years later, the world leaders thought the earth was flat! They also knew about planets that were not even discovered by our society until the early part of the 20th Century.

As Sitchin puts it, we seemed to be going backward at certain times of our existence. What is the explanation for this? The 12th planet.

5 out of 5 stars Still a best selling author

Sitchin will always be a best selling author regardless of lack of scientific evidence. New and pioneering ideas are here to stay. They confuse many of us, nevertheless they capture our interest.
Many dislike and even hate Sitchin. Many others worship him. It is not difficult to understand his success. Look at this book, it was published many years ago, and today, right this very moment is selling like hot cakes...
Fortunately, today there is a new wave of authors who expand the horizon of our knowledge because they back up their claims with solid material, thinkers and leading historians like Maximillien de Lafayette and J. Vallee.
Lafayette is the newest and greatest author today. This is very funny, because it took us 50 years to rediscover him. Lafayette wrote 50 books on Anunnaki, extraterrestrials and alien life, and his ideas are sometimes more developed than Sitchin.
Vallee is a pure scientific author who does nor write much.
So what we have here is Sitchin and Lafayette. I like that. Ufology and parallel history are necessary to understand what traditional science cannot explain.
