Editorial Reviews:

The most widely recognized business executive of all time asks the tough questions that America's leaders must address:

What is each of us giving back to our country?

Do we truly love democracy?

Are we too fat and satisfied for our own good?

Why is America addicted to oil?

Do we really care about our children's futures?

Who will save the middle class?

Lee Iacocca believes that leaders are made in times of crisis -- such as today. He has known more leaders than almost anybody else -- including nine U.S. presidents, many heads of state, CEOs of the nation's top corporations, celebrities, and even a pope -- and is uniquely suited to share his wisdom, knowledge, and wit about the leadership of America. Lee Iacocca does not mince words, and in Where Have All the Leaders Gone? he offers his no-nonsense, straight-up assessments of the American politicians most likely to run for president in 2008. He also shares his lessons learned, and issues a call to action to summon Americans back to their roots of hard work, common sense, integrity, generosity, and optimism.

Where have all the leaders gone? Lee Iacocca has the answer.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent thought provoking book

I am only part way through the book but just had to write a comment about how great it is. Mr Iacocca is right -- we should be mad and we should stand up and take action -- immediately. Another great book that really prompts each of us to become leaders and to stop following is Seth Godin's newest book, Tribes.

After reading "Where Have All the Leaders Gone" -- read "Tribes - We need YOU to lead us" and then start leading. For me, the only way to channel my anger/disappointment with our government/economy/etc....is to take action, to stand up and make things happen.

4 out of 5 stars He's a funny guy

A lot of Bush bashing, a bit of automobile manufacturing history, some common sense, a dash of humor and some more Bush bashing for good measure. A very fast, fun read. Good, basic lessons for leadership.

1 out of 5 stars He and his friends picked wrong

This is a waste of time. This guy had the power in his day to pick his replacement leaders. He and his friends picked wrong. So here we sit. For a real solution to our problems read this book on amazon:

5 out of 5 stars Where Have All the Leaders Gone

A very easy to read book that is thought provoking and challenges us to look at elections in a new way!

5 out of 5 stars A Late Awakening

I first picked this up at an airport, just to read the intro. I couldn't put it down. Iococca jumps out at you from the first page, with vigor never seen in his previous writings.

One quickly realizes that Mr. Iococca is dissatisfied with the direction and administration of the US government of the first eight years of the century. He minces no words on this tour de force. Iococca backs up his opinions with real-world experience, from discussing world affairs while pulling an all nighter with Fidel Castro, to rebuilding Chrysler on a $1-per-year salary. Indeed some may only fault the author's late return to the pen. But better late than never.
